GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR) 2018
The EU GDPR has been designed to harmonise data privacy laws across the European Union. The aim of this regulation is to ensure that businesses protect personally identifiable information. Ames Belgravia Ltd is a property consultancy that collects personal data in order to process a property sale, acquisition, valuation or other property matter or to provide advice for a client and/or their solicitor. Our Company Number is 07651230. Ames Belgravia Ltd’s legitimate interest in processing this data is the property consultancy services it provides to clients. By supplying this information you are consenting to make this available to us for these purposes. It should be noted that this regulation will continue to apply regardless of Brexit.
The information we require may include name, postal address, email, IP address, telephone number/s, passport details, date of birth, copies of bank statements/utility or Council Tax bills and bank details.
Why we need your data
We need to know your basic personal data and sometimes more detailed information to provide you with part or any of the above services and in order to comply with RICS/HMRC Money Laundering regulations. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee this service to you.
What we do with this data
We use the information we collect to conduct our business as outlined above. However with regard to the receipt of this data and due to the global nature of technology the information you give us may be transferred in transit to countries outside the European Economic Area that may not have protections in place regarding your data and its use. Please be aware that by submitting your information you are agreeing to these transfers.
No third parties, with the exception of your solicitor (if appropriate) will have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. There may be occasions when we obtain information about you from other publicly available sources such as the Land Registry, social media or referral agents etc.
We do not forward client details to any third parties for marketing purposes nor do we do mass mail outs. We may use a third party tool such as Mailchimp to highlight property information to businesses/clients on an occasional basis if they have agreed to receive this.
Copies of our invoices to clients may be shared with our accountant who has appropriate protocols in place.
We have established a Data Protection regime to oversee the secure processing and storage of your personal data. More information on this framework is available on request. Our General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Policy will be on our new website which is under construction.

We may get in touch with you by email unless you notify us that you no longer wish to be contacted by us. You can remove your details by unsubscribing.
Please note we are unable to remove stored data that forms part of an agreed contract until at least 6 years from the date of agreement unless there are legal reasons for doing so. (See below).
Social Media
We may Follow/Follow Back clients on Social Media via our Twitter/Instagram accounts and may receive or express comments on these pages. Please be aware that any information you may post on a Social Media site becomes public information.
How long do we keep your data
We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years or longer if it is deemed necessary to comply with Money Laundering or RICS requirements. Thereafter it will be destroyed.
What are your rights
You have a right to be informed as to how we process your data. If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact us at ca@amesbelgravia.co.uk to have the matter investigated.
